Lovely warm September Sunday, stiff breeze DP back from a few weeks off with a broken and mashed up finger, courtesy of wrestling Lost the toss, APCC batted first We had a strong pace attack Bansal is a 1st XI league batsman and looked well set, until he drove Fahim straight to Vinay at short cover - smart thinking by DP to keep some fielders in, even though he was starting to boss it about DP also picked up two really good catches - one at slip, and one at silly-mid-off Debutant (mate of Fahim’s) Nisar bowled a slippery medium-fast, and picked up four well deserved wickets Godhi and Dixon were as reliable as ever, and Vinay didn’t have enough overs to really do him justice APCC were bowled out for 106, but the track was somewhat lifeless, so we didn’t necessarily expect it to be easy However, as it was, we moved smoothly to a six-wicket victory Once again Jimmy looked elegant until he plopped one into mid-wicket’s hands Rasheed was well composed and patient, though as soon as Indrajit was out he took this as a cue to batter 20 in an over and take us to victory with 20 overs to spare A good win this, and our first at the fourth attempt against APCC - who were as always a good bunch to play against
