Strongroom fielded a decent team as we took on Crouch End for the second of our Twenty20 league games at the Calthorpe ground. Winning the boss we decided to bat first and did well to post a total of 165. Jules [25*] and Jimmy [18] got the innings off to a slick start, before Jules had to retire at the agreed 25 runs total. Mellor, Ujjal, Guy , Proctor and Luke Evans all got into double figures. Proctor top-scored with 24 muscular runs in this his 100th cap for Strongroom. Luke Evans returned to play in his first outing for Strongroom since 2007. A youngish Crouch End XI bowled too short and wide overall, and put down some regulation catches. Crouch End came out and batted aggressively, but wickets fell at regular intervals, leaving them 52 short at 113 all out. Ujjal, Paddy and Mellor were the pick of the bowlers, and Strongroom fielded well throughout, including two smart catches in the outfield by Jules.
