A tough game this in that we struggled to generate a full team, had not specialist wicket-keeper, and ended up having to borrow two from the opposition, as well as fielding two of our own debutants. The weather was great though, and we all managed to assemble ourselves for a 6pm start, taking advantage of deserted streets in the wake of England beating Slovenia 1-0 in the World Cup. APCC batted first and took advantage of a good track, some poor fielding and a confused opposition (I struggled to remember new names of fielders at times), and posted a good total of 161. Paddy Ell and Chris West both bowled well. Strongroom had a bad start, with key batsman Simon Ray out early on. Myself and Guy put on a 60 run stand in the middle order, and were just threatening to make the opposition nervous, but alas more wickets fell and we were always too many runs behind the going rate. Paddy again showed his batting pedigree and directed the ball to the boundary nicely in his 28*.
