2007 Season
Captain: D.Proctor
Vice Captains: J.Gower, J.Morris
A very tough season! We won 10, lost 10. Rain played a major part in soggying nearly all the matches between May and July, but we still managed to battle through in muddy conditions! It was very much a season of 'three halves' - we won 8 out of our first 10 games, then lost 7 on the trot, then ended the season back on form again. Five losses against Gardeners and Caribbean Mix proved to be the lowest point of the season, when our ability to bowl leg-side wides became epidemic in proportions. However, on a positive note, we did manage to overturn both Jesmond Jaguars and the mighty London Nigerians for the first time.
This season witnessed centuries from Jon Gower, Mark Mellor and Simon Ray, as well as long-awaited half-centuries for Guy Wilson and Jolyon Rebbeck. Richard Woolhouse claimed 20 wickets in a great effort with the ball.
